Your research. Your choices.

Here is a quick guide to your information in the research application. Our full privacy notice explains the services we use and your approved retention and closure choices.

What stays with your account

Your sign-in identity, email, chosen display name and profile dates connect you to your saved properties, notes, reviewed excerpts, sketches and research snapshots. Saved research can include precise property locations. Other accounts cannot read it through the account API. Older browser-only saves and preferences remain on the browser where they were created.

Where research requests go

Searching sends addresses, parcel identifiers, coordinates or boundaries to the application and relevant public-data services. Map providers receive requests for the areas you view. Device location is optional; you can search for an area or address instead. Source caches are separate from your private notes, and request counts help prevent excessive use.

Land Records supplies nationwide parcel maps and selected-property records. Optional visit planning uses the National Weather Service, USGS water observations and Census county matching. These server requests contain the location needed for the check, without your account identity, email or private notes. County wildfire summaries are stored with the app.

We keep daily totals of search outcomes, property reviews, reports and export requests for up to 90 days to improve reliability. These totals do not contain account identifiers, search text, addresses, parcel numbers or notes. Separate account request counters enforce usage limits.

As you type a town or address, the suggestion feature sends that search text to public Census or county sources and, when needed for an address, Photon’s OpenStreetMap search service. These services receive the search text through our server, without your account identity, email or saved notes. Suggestions may be reused for up to five minutes in your open page and, for Census and Photon responses, up to one minute in server memory. They are not added to your saved properties.

Optional advertising measurement

On our homepage and app membership/confirmation pages, you can allow or decline Google Ads measurement. It stays off before consent. If allowed, Google receives advertising identifiers, first-payment amount and a random transaction reference, plus browser connection information. We do not send your email, property research or private notes. Your shared browser choice and configured measurement cookies last up to 30 days; this does not delete Google-held information. Our application keeps limited account-linked consent and payment metadata, with 30-day payload cleanup eligibility and a longer-lived minimal deduplication record.

Sign-in and billing

Clerk handles customer sign-in, Cloudflare hosts the application and Stripe handles billing. The app stores billing references, membership status and processed event IDs, not card numbers. Sandbox payments are fictional and do not create a paid membership.

Your research, even after you cancel

Canceling membership stops renewal; it does not close your account. Saved findings remain available to view, compare and export while your account is open. New paid research requires an active membership.

Feedback you choose to send

When you send feedback while signed in, we send the message and any reply email you choose to provide to our support inbox at hello@landuncovered.com through our email delivery provider, Resend. We do not automatically include your property, report, notes or account profile, and feedback does not enroll you in marketing emails. We retain limited account-linked delivery records for 30 days to prevent duplicates and troubleshoot delivery, unless a specific hold requires review. Separate body-free records of completed sending attempts are kept for 32 days after their outcome is recorded; uncertain delivery attempts and held records remain until reviewed. Aggregate sending counters remain while the sending configuration is in use to protect against duplicate or excess sending. Existing security request logs follow the security retention described in this policy. Our support inbox retains your message for handling and separately reviewed cleanup; there is no automatic mailbox deletion schedule. You may request access or removal through hello@landuncovered.com; we verify identity and explain applicable holds and available next steps. Application cleanup does not itself delete copies retained by our email providers.

Download your research or request removal

You can export individual reports and download a private research archive from Account. The customer workspace does not currently have an individual saved-property removal control. To request removal, email hello@landuncovered.com; we will verify your identity and explain the available next steps. This does not change your privacy rights or the account-closure policy below. The archive contains your profile and account-saved research, including notes and locations. It excludes browser-only saves, billing records and sign-in logs, and cannot currently be imported back into the app. Optional text-file tools read an excerpt locally for your review; the original file is not uploaded by that tool.

Our approved policy is to process verified closure requests within 30 days, retain necessary billing records for seven years and limited account security records for up to 90 days after closure. Necessary legal or tax holds may extend retention. Provider backups and records follow their documented retention rules.

Email hello@landuncovered.com for corrections, privacy questions or closure. We’ll verify your identity and help resolve renewal, export and account closure together. Sending an email does not instantly cancel billing or delete records.
